NY visits CO

My brother came out this weekend and we had a blast. We took him to Casa Bonita, Water World, Lakeside, a local sushi restaurant and a local club. He deploys in January for one year, plans to go to Rhode Island for a year after he gets back and then plans to request a transfer to Ft. Carson in Colorado Springs. Elizabeth and I are SO excited to hear that--even thought it's like three years away.

Summer Love...

I love the summer. I love my Ben, Corky and twin. I live for the weekends, daily runs with Ben and weekly time with Elizabeth. There are so many areas, in life, that I have been so blessed.

The cutest boy I've ever met...

Well besides Ben of course! On Father's Day, Ben and I went to my step-sister's house for a BBQ. Her oldest boy is so adorable. His name is John and he LOVES sports. He was running around the living room throwing the football, catching it (or trying to) when you would throw it to him and running for touchdowns. Every time he would run he would tell us to say "Go Broncos". So we yelled it over and over and each time, he would say "Thank you".

To you...from us.

Well it's time that we join the rest of you on this "grown-up" blogging phenomenon. Ben and I have recently been busy with day to day things...work....school...etc. Corky has been sick. I think he tore a ligament so he has had a few trips to the vet. That's been NO fun. This week has been an especially hard week for me. One of my clients committed suicide in the early hours Sunday morning. She was sixteen and decided that she had had enough of what life had to offer. She was hurting and no one knew the extent of it. Least of all, her family. She was an identical twin and seeing her sister at the funeral was unsettling. It is just another reminder of how fragile life is and it can be taken from you in an instant. Ben has been great to me in this time of sorrow. I've only worked with these clients for a little over three years but in that time, I've never had something so tragic happen. On a more positive note, my sister graduated high school a couple of weeks ago and is planning to attend Red Rocks in the fall. Ben and I were hoping to attend the Bullock family reunion but my brother is scheduled to come to Denver during that time and I need to be here to see him. He leaves for Iraq in November and this is my last chance to see him before then. It saddens me to know that I wont be able to keep that pinky promise I made... However, it seems as though we must take a trip to the great land of OHIO this August. Aside from those few things, nothing major going on in our lives....other than living of course.

XOXO
